Footwarmers for Insoles
Usage
Open the package and remove the warmer from the polybag and expose the warmer to air.
After app. 10 minutes the heating pad reaches its ideal temperature.
Remove the insert from the cavity of the YETI soles and insert the warmers instead.
Place the YETI sole in your shoe.
Enjoy pleasant warmth for more than 6 hours.
After use, dispose of the warmer in regular household waste.
CONTENTS
Iron powder, active carbon1, vermiculite2, salt, water
1) Charcoal (active carbon) is a fine grain carbon (90% carbon materials) with a large surface area and a highly porous structure. The pores are similar to a sponge in that they are bound together on top of one another. To give you an idea of the porous structure of this material the inner surface area of 2 grams of this charcoal has a surface area of a football field.
2) Vermiculite is a soft mineral which influences the ground fertility due to its high tendency to exchange ions. Vermiculite is similar to mica minerals and it forms flaky crystals. This mineral is often used in cat litter and gound fertilisers. It can also be found in buildings as a safe alternative to asbestos for sound and heat isolation as well as fire protection.
Functionality
ACTIVATION
You do not need to charge or boil! Just open the packet and remove the warmer – which will warm up within minutes.
STOPPING THE REACTION AND REACTIVATION
You can stop the chemical reaction by placing the warmer in a air tight bag. To reuse remove the warmer from this air tight environment.
CHEMICAL REACTION
A warmer contains a bag which allows air to move across it. The reaction between the iron powder in the warmer and the oxygen in air results in a heat generating reaction. Salt and water act as a catalyst* for the reaction, along with charcoal and vermiculite which act as water reserves.
* A catalyst is a material which influences the speed of a chemical reaction without the material itself being used in the reaction. This material can either accelerate or decelerate the reaction.
WARNINGS
Burn hazard! Immediately remove warmer if it is too hot or uncomfortable. Check skin periodically.
DO NOT USE: directly on skin; for longer than stated; with other heating devices or heating up in microwave; on top of foot; while sleeping; on infants (0-6); on those who cannot feel heat; more than one warmer per foot; in ventilated footwear or during vigorous activities such as running or hiking; in oxygen-enriched environments.
CAREFUL SUPERVISION is required when used by the elderly, children (6+), the handicapped, and those with sensitive skin.
CONSULT A PHYSICIAN: People with allergies, diabetes, frostbite, scars, open wounds, bruise, swelling, sensitive skin, arthritis, paralysis, nerve damage or circulatory problems, people who cannot apply or remove warmer by themselves, should not use this product unless directed by a physician.
For external use in shoes only! Do not cut, puncture or tear. Do not allow contents to get in eyes or mouth. If in eyes, flush thoroughly with clean water. If in mouth, contact poison control center as it contains iron powder, which can be harmful if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store cool and dry out of direct sunlight.
Dispose of in regular garbage after single use. Ingredients will not harm environment.
